  Through all this (car still hasn't started), i inquire about the other cars in the Thrifty bays parked adjacent and which one we should move our luggage to - but - NO! - the gentleman says they are ALL booked out and he'll get this one started.

  Gentleman at service counter added extra insurance charge at counter even though the whole rental was prepaid.

  As there are no other options (regional airport, no other rental counters staffed between flights) - when the car eventually starts we inquire when a similar car is available. Gentlemen begrudgingly says the equivalent car is being returned the next day (we have a 7-day hire), and 'if we want' we 'could' take this one now and in 24 hrs bring it back for another.

  Then - the gentlemen (not wearing Thrifry branded clothing, instead harvey-world travel logo - he said it was his 'other' job), said 'don't worry I'm also a mechanic, i 'washed' the engine a few days ago - gets in and 10+ times in a row the vehicle doesn't start!

  (at this time there is no-one at the airport [its regional, 4 flights a day], and shows no interest at all in swapping to a greater value car so we can actually have a working vehicle!)

  After about 20 mins of the gentleman ticking over the car it eventually starts. During this he gets out of our car (before it started) and said to stop verbally attacking him as there are NO other cars and HE is a mechanic again who washed the engine, if WE have a problem to just take our luggage and walk!
