  Mattie was able to skillfully work through the issues in my life while helping me to verbalise the depth of the issues. As a result of mindfulness techniques, including sand play, drawing etc, Mattie was able to draw out the depth of emotion not previously verbalised. Mattie challenged me to be involved in the deeper work for deeper reward and benefit.

  At an utter crisis point in our marriage, which was culminating in potential divorce, Mattie enabled us to reconnect by giving us practical techniques to empathise and rediscover the once strong foundations of our relationship.   Despite my preconceptions Mattie was a breath of fresh air and exactly what I needed. She rapidly identified what I wanted and provided what I needed - note that want and need are two separate things. I wasn't upsold or taken down a path that wasn't relevant to me, nor was I pandered to and appeased. Mattie worked through my issue and in a single sessions provided the skills I would need to effectively manage my work life balance.

  I booked an appointment with Life Connect Counselling to attain the knowledge and/or skills I wanted in order to balance out the stress of my voluminous workload in our new startup. I have never seen a counsellor before and was skeptical that it would be the right fit for me. My concern was that (based on my limited and hollywood-esque understanding of counselling) I would be sold on a multiple visit "lets explore your dark past" kind of model. However based on a personal recommendation I booked anyway.
